Base banner The MAG ad is an add-on to the existing NT1 position of a Site Takeover or OPA Pushdown and as such must have a base banner which follows those specs
Magazine width The width of the Magazine depends on the width of the property page it will appear in. See list of page widths below. Use the correct template for the required page.
Magazine height The height of each page is 570px. The magazine must include navigation at the top 30px. So total format height is 570 + 30 = 600px.
Max # pages 6, each page 50KB SWF, Flash 10 AS3 or below

Add a taste of old-skool media to your banner by incorporating a highly interactive MAG Ad option. Upon user click, your banner will expand to a large panel, transforming it into an online magazine. A powerful rich media unit that will dynamically populate content as a user navigates, the MAG option provides a wildly rich user-experience and an incredible opportunity for an advertiser to showcase a wide variety of content, ranging from product showcases to interactive layouts and video.

Deliverables

  • 6 x (page width, see below)×570 FLA and SWF (50KB per page or 300KB for 6 pages combined)
  • 1 x (page width, see below)x600 FLA and SWF (30KB Flash 9 AS2 or below)
  • Please also include fonts that we may need for publishing the FLAs

Page widths and FLA Templates

The width of the magazine element depends on the width of the Yahoo! page it is to run on. Templates are provided in the below list and we advise using our templates to create your magazine element. Yahoo! page widths and templates:

  • 954px: Yahoo! Music, Cars, Video, OMG, News, Weather, Travel, Movies, Finance, Lifestyle, Sport, TV
  • 960px: Yahoo! Games

Video and Audio

A video can also play on one page in the magazine. Sound can play from the beginning as the magazine it is user-initiated. There must be a sound toggle button. Please provide video asset as FLV (2.2MB or below) or uncompressed AVI or MOV at 30 seconds max. Video asset specs for videos in the magazine panel are negotiable; please liaise with your Yahoo! Sales representative to work out specs that will meet your needs. Audio (sound only) is also available in the Expandable overlay. The audio asset should be supplied as a WAV or MP3 at around 100KB. There must also be controls to mute the audio. This ad unit can be served via an approved Third Party Vendor in IFRAME tags.
