Guidelines All ads must follow these Yahoo! guidelines

Yahoo! Mail is proud to expand its creative canvas to include the new Send/Confirm Takeover Ad! The Send/Confirm takeover ad provides advertisers with a Login-like full page advertising canvas. The takeover is a 24 hour roadblock experience that runs on the Email Sent and Empty Folder pages within the new Yahoo! Mail.

  • 1080×750px max, 100KB max JPG
  • This image file should NOT include the Email Sent box or any white space outside the ad unit. Please supply only the ad image
  • Logo and relevant text should be designed into the wallpaper image and should stay within the designated 405×430 max section outlined in the diagram below
  • Please also provide a colour hex code for the wider background. The image should blend into this colour gracefully
  • Wallpaper should be optimized for 1024×768 screen resolution

Please note that we have a PSD template available to create your Mail Sent Takeover (Right click >> Save As)

A 30 second video can also play in this unit. Video play must be user-click-initiated. There must also be controls to pause video, play and mute the sound. The video can be contained in a container 405×430 Flash file (max dimensions – please see template)
Please deliver:

Audio (sound only) is also available in this unit. Audio play must be user-click-initiated and be supplied as a WAV or MP3 at 100KB or below. There must also be controls to mute the audio.

  • The Yahoo! Mail Send/Confirm ad is sold as an exclusive takeover only. Campaign implementation will be managed by the Yahoo! Front Doors Advertising team.
  • The AdChoices icon is a required link and will be displayed in the top left corner of the ad.
  • Vertical and horizontal scrolling is not present on the page unless the Email Sent module requires it, therefore important content should stay within the 405×430 area to ensure it is not cut off due to small screen resolutions.
  • Wallpaper must be optimized for 1024×768 screen resolution.
  • Ads will be served on the Email Sent and Empty Folder pages within the new Yahoo! Mail.
  • The Email Sent and Folder Empty box must display on the page and may not be overtaken by the advertisement at any time. The ad copy should stay at least 15 pixels away from this box on the right hand side.
  • The real estate dedicated to the Yahoo! Mail interface may not be moved and may not be impacted by the advertisement at any time (no overlays, floating, etc).

  • Creative must contain clear messaging.
  • Prominent branding is required. All logos/branding should be a minimum of 15 pixels away from the Email Sent module on the right hand side.
  • Creative may not resemble or alter Yahoo! Mail content at any time (i.e. resembling Yahoo! buttons).
  • Creative elements should not be designed around or under the Email Sent module. The height of the Email Sent module can vary for different users.
  • No login fields or any text entry fields will be allowed in the advertisement. Ads cannot require users to enter in any personal information
  • Any interactivity within an ad unit must be functional. For example, ads cannot contain imagery that appears clickable but is not.
  • Ads must directly relate to the content on the landing page. Ads must clearly represent the company, product, or brand that is being advertised. Products or services promoted in the ad must be directly available on the landing page.
  • Ads cannot include excessive repetition (such as “buy, buy, buy”) and must use correct spelling and grammatically correct spacing.
  • If redirecting to a social network page (ex: Facebook, Twitter, etc.) that requires the user to log in, there will need to be a disclaimer within the ad indicating this.
  • Images, logos, fonts must be of high resolution/good quality. Loud, clashing colors, poor resolution images and fonts, intrusive, high-annoyance design elements are not allowed.
  • All creative subject to Yahoo! approval.
